Buea is one of the biggest towns in the English speaking region of Cameroon. It's the capital of the South West Region of Cameroon. The town has a very long and rich history. It was the Capital of German Kamerun from 1901 to 1919. It was also the Capital of Southern Cameroons from 1949 to 1961.
The tallest mountain in the whole of West and Central Africa, known as Mount Cameroon is found in this historic town. This mountain attract tourists from all over the world.
The town is less than an hours drive from the sea side town of Limbe and Douala, the biggest and most vibrant city in the country.
The town is fast developing to become a metropolitan city. It host one of the best universities in the country. More and more universities and university colleges and or departments find this town an ideal place to locate their institutions.
