BANGANTE
This is the divisional capital of the Ndé Division of the West Region of Cameroon. It is home to many people of the Bamileke tribe. It is the host town of the Université des Montagnes, (an upcoming privately owned university that focuses on health and technology).
Bangante has so many bus agencies that transport people to and from Bafoussam, Douala and Yaoundé . The buses leave at any time of the day.
The town has two main markets: Marché A and B. Marché A is located in the center of the town and opens seven days a week, sells a variety of fresh produce, clothing, basic hardware supplies and electronics, while Marché B is located in a neighborhood south of the town, opens on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and sells the same kind of goods as Marché A, but with many vendors. For this reason, prices here are much lower than in Marché A.
The town of Bangante also has a municipal council that takes care of the development and sanitation of the municipality. It is also the seat of the senior divisional offier fot the Nde division. The town has one of the oldest first division football club, Panthere de Nde (formerly panthere de Bangante). It is a place to visit and discover for yourself.
