MISSION STATEMENT

The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Board seeks to assist in the provision of care to all who need it as an expression of Christian love and as a means of witness in order that they might be brought to God through Jesus Christ. Thus, the CBC Health Board is providing exemplary health care with genuine compassion, and with overriding purpose of evangelical witness through its hospital with the BBH included.

The Banso Baptist Hospital (BBH) was established in 1949. It was first of all a government cottage hospital with four small buildings and 20 beds. Since then, BBH has grown to a current bed capacity of over 250 with a staff strength of about 500 persons.

BBH is the first hospital out of five in the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) Hospitals. It is one of the most renowned hospitals in Cameroon because it provides exemplary services through Christ-centered, evidence-based health care practices to over 70.000 patients annually (in both in-patients and out-patients) from all over Cameroon and beyond.
Because it was started by an American, it is popularly known as “America”.

Its staffs provide support services to Baptist Hospitals in Banyo, Mbem and Dunger. They also supervise 11 rural integrated health centers in three divisions of the Northwest Region.

It is a District Hospital, providing preventative health care services to the local community.
In 1980 BBH served as the base for a pioneer primary health care network (Life Abundant Primary Health Care (LAP) which now covers more than 40 villages with basic health care built on community effort.

It also serves as a training site for the Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS). It is also an approved HIV/AIDS treatment Center.
