FEICOM SPECIAL COUNCIL SUPPORT FUND FOR MUTUAL ASSISTANCE)
This is a public administrative establishment that was created by law No 74/23 0f 5th December 1974.
The main purpose of creation was to organize local councils in the country.
Even though it was created in 1974, it started operating in 1977 and has since then undergone evolutions so as to adapt to changes of the institutional context.
It has therefore seen into modernizing its functioning structures in order to adequately meet the needs of local councils.
In this regard, the Cameroon Government has entrusted to this establishment the mission of mutual assistance among local councils through solidarity contributions, cash advances and the financing of investment projects.
Another major stake of the establishment is to ensure formalization and objectivity of its assistance mechanisms in order to promote equity and transparency.
The establishment has financed so many council projects in all parts in the ten regions of the country.
