SITUATION
Malingo street Buea, opposite the Jehovah church Buea Cameroon

This is one of the leading nurses’ training institutions in the region offering training in nursing and medical laboratory technicians.

Their programs are designed taking into consideration the BMP system in use at the University of Buea, Cameroon, faculty of health sciences, the course credit system of the University of Texas medical Branch USA and the modular system at the school of nursing and midwifery, University of East Anglia UK, in order to facilitate staff and student exchange within and out of Cameroon.

KEY ELEMENTS OF PROGRAMMES
Early progressive exposure to practice ladder approach to career development integrates theory and practice with equal exposure to practice and theory (5:50)

Students develop the ability to apply a reflective and staff directed approach to learning to become life long learners to meet current Cameroonian, American and European standards.

OPTIONS AND INTERNAL CERTIFICATES
Upon successful completion of programmes, students take the HND examinations organized by the Ministry of Higher Education Cameroon.
Incase the student wishes to discontinue before the end of the programme, the following certificates are issued to him/her upon request;
- Certificate of Completion in care Giving/Phlebotomy/Microscopy (end of year 1)
- Certificate of Completion in nurse Assisting/Medical Laboratory Assisting (end of year2)
- Certificate of Completion in Advanced Nursing/Medical Laboratory practice (end of year

1. MASTERS DEGREE IN NURSING EDUCATION
With Brookline college USA for 48 weeks online with 2 months placement in USA

2. BACHELORE DEGREE IN NURSING
One year conversation from HND/HPD/SRN to Btech. With extensive and intensive clinical placement in specialty area in collaboration with the university of Buea.
Second semester at the University of East Anglia (UK) for clinical placement, research and registration with nursing/Midwifery council UK (optional)
One year conversion to BSC Nursing at Coventry University UK.

3. BACHELORS DEGREE IN MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES
One year conversion from HND/HPD to Btech. in medical laboratory sciences with extensive and intensive clinical placements in specialty area in collaboration with the university of Buea.

Two years conversion from from HND/HPD to Btech in clinical laboratory sciences at the University of Texas medical branch.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES
In Cameroon the state recruits thousands of Health personnel every year. Their students have gained employment and continue to excel in many public and private Health institutions all over the world. Although Hospitals in Cameroon can now afford Ultrasound machines, they cannot put them into effective use because of the severe shortage of echography technicians. Out of Cameroon, in Europe and North America in particular, the demand for nurses and health technicians is on the rise, especially with the rapidly expanding elderly population.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
MASTERS DEGREE IN NURSING= Bachelors degree in Nursing
BACHELORS DEGREE IN NURSING= HND/HPD/SRN
HND PROGRAMMES= four A-C grades O/L and at least 2 A/L passes in any subjects for nursing and science subjects for other programmes.

FEES AND DATELINES
Registration (on time) = 50.000FCFA
HND tuition = 400.000FCFA per annum
Bachelors degree = 500.000FCFA per annum
