HIMS Buea was founded in June 2007 with the express aim of grooming professionally qualified managers for modern industries. It became a full-fledged member of the Higher Education sector in Cameroon by Ministerial decree No 08/0256 OF 3RD OCTOBER 2008.
Over the years HIMS has produced outstanding results in the HND exams justifying its leading position in its specialized domain. HIMS has gained affiliation with the University of Bamenda and will with effect from October 2013 commence the top-up degree program under the supervision of the University of Bamenda.
HIMS is a fast growing Higher Institution of learning in Cameroon specialized in Business studies. It offers tuition for the Higher National Diploma and the Bachelor of Technology of the University of Bamenda.

To continually develop the capabilities and effectiveness of individuals by offering tuition and promoting benchmark qualifications in management and related studies.

To be the choice institution for those seeking increased knowledge, job relevant qualifications, professional development and customized training program for Business Studies in the Central African Sub-Region.

STAFFING
Staff recruitment is based on serious and wide searches for appropriately qualified teachers. To maximize output, motivation is high, with a defined benefit structure. All teachers for core courses are specialists and members of the professional bodies concerned. They are better placed to provide students with the thinking and practices in their chosen fields of specialization.
With effect from the 2013/2014 academic year, HIMS shall offer the opportunity to workers and other individuals with a busy schedule, to enhance their skills and knowledge in its five specialized Business Studies Programs. At the end of the two years course, candidates shall be fit to sit for the HND exams in any of the following programs;
- Accountancy
- Banking Finance
- Insurance
- Management and,
- Marketing.
HIMS offers Higher National Diploma courses to students which are practice based courses. When you succeed in the final exams you will receive a Diploma from the ministry of Higher Education.
Holders of the HND can TOP-UP their qualification to Bachelors degrees by simply furthering their education for an additional one year under the auspices of the University of Bamenda who also supervise and award the degrees.
MODE OF TUITION
Evening sessions and weekends
Tuition for the part time HND courses shall be in two phases:
PHASE 1: BUSINESS FOUNDATION COURSES (OCT-FEB)
• Fridays: 4.00 pm-8.00pm
• Saturdays: 8.00am-12Noon & 2.00pm-6.00pm
• Take-home weekly assignments every Saturday.
PHASE 2: PROFESSIONAL COURSES (MARCH-JUNE)
• Wednesday: 4.00pm-8.00pm, Departmental professional courses
• Fridays: 4.00pm-8.00pm, Departmental professional courses
• Saturdays: 8.00am-12Noon & 2.00pm-6.00pm- Interdepartmental courses
• Take-home weekly assignments every Saturday.
COURSE MATERIALS
For the foundation courses shall be offered free of charge to all the students.
HOW TO APPLY
1. Purchase the admission package for 5.000frs from HIMS secretariat.
2. Complete the application form and enclose in the admission package
3. Enclose and submit photocopies of O/L, A/L or equivalent, ID card, birth certificate and two passport size photographs.
4. Qualified applicants will receive a letter of admission.
5. Pay the sum of 22.000 FRS registration fees and 25.00 FRS student union levy fees into bank account using student’s name.
6. Submit payment receipt from the bank to the bursar to complete the registration process.
