Life at UIDB is … different! Saints and Scholars. That is indeed what we are in UIDB. Life at UIDB is a harmonious combination of faith and studies, communion and professionalism, work and leisure for a holistic development of the human person, body and soul, intellect and ethics. In UIDB, we believe in the culture of “both and” which implies that we do not just train future professionals who will excel in their career, but we prepare professional servant leaders with moral and spiritual values who will contribute to the sustainable development of their communities. In its endeavor to foster this mission, UIDB has put in place a system which nurtures both the academic, professional and entrepreneurial competence and the spiritual, moral, social and environmental values of the students.

ECONOMYOFCOMMUNIONTIME
EoC time starts at 11:45 and ends at 1:30. It is a time when the University community stops all activities of the day to share with one another in the spirit of communion, fellowship and unity. On a daily basis, from 12 to 12:30, the entire family converges to the UIDB parish for the EoC mass. EoC time extends till 1:30. This hour is dedicated to sharing and each and every one brings out the homo agapicus in him/her. It is also during this hour that events such as Entrepreneurship Week, Volunteerism Week, Student Week and Cultural and Diversity Week are celebrated.

Guest speakers for the month
Every month faculty, staff and students assemble at the Eoc village to listen to the success story of an outstanding entrepreneur. Through personal experience, students can see how the qualities of an entrepreneur, put into practice, lead to success.

Entrepreneurial base groups
In UIDB, students form entrepreneurial base groups to learn how to be team players in conceiving entrepreneurial ideas and carrying out a business venture. These groups serve as a practical experience for students who are called to be “job creators” rather than “job seekers”. This also fosters the EoC philosophy as it is a platform for knowledge sharing where fast learners help slow learners and move on together.
Clubs and associations

Life at UIDB is fun. In the numerous clubs and associations operational in UIDB, students pick up and share new skills. These groups uphold a sense of togetherness and it is a good forum for students to express their skills.

SPORTS
The importance of sports cannot be over emphasized. In UIDB, we have sporting activities for students every Saturday. Apart from enhancing the health condition, these sessions are real moments of fun, joy and relaxation.

FACILITIES
UIDB offers facilities to ensure appropriate, effective and efficient training of its students. In fact, two brand new buses to take students from one campus the other, an infirmary for health care, an outstanding restaurant serving delicious African dishes, a library furnished with useful field-related books for students of the various Schools. In UIDB, students enjoy the pleasures of two lovely campuses conducive for learning and make their studies memorable.

Too Expensive NEW
by: Peter Njang

Is the Catholic mission providing education only to the rich? Some of us were educated in Catholic institutions but with such high fees, the church is joining the world in excluding the poor from acquiring education. How many Cameroonians will afford 800,000 frs CFA per year? Thanks.
